starting to prepare

So, here we are.. July 19th. The date of my departure is
fast-approaching, and I am starting to feel the need to get prepared. Today I took great steps: I made an appointment with the travel medical clinic (at the very least, I think I should get my Hep A booster done, finally); I cancelled my phone service (effective Sept 4th); and last but not least, I wrote to this blog.

I've never used a blog before, and it's been a while since I've been on a trip, so I'm not really sure what to write about. Once I get going, it
will be different, as I will have much to report on. But at this point, I'm just going about my regular life, such as it is.

The most exciting thing I've done lately is volunteered at the Vancouver Folk Festival. Like the last time I volunteered, it was fantastic. I discovered many new (to me) musicians, and even got a CD autographed by Kris Demeanor , a singer/songwriter from Calgary who I especially liked. I have a few pictures in my gallery from the festival, but I did not get one taken with Kris as the giggly girls in front of me did.

Well, that's all I have to say for now... maybe I will have something more interesting after my trip to the Juan de Fuca trail next week.

Cheerio!

Kat.
