so, the last few days I have been staying up late to play with my scrabble set. sounds exciting, doesn't it? well, the challenge I have set is to try to fit all the letters (or as close as possible to all of them) into words on only one half of the board. The big half, that is (the board is 15x15, so I am working with an 8x15 grid). Given that 8*15=120 and there are 100 letter-tiles, this means that very few spots can be left unfilled. On my first attempt, I had 10 letters spill over onto the second half of the board. Second attempt: 11 letters and a couple of questionable words like "ie" and "oo". My latest attempt is certainly the best by far... only 8 letters left over and no questionable words at all:



I wonder if other people have done this and there is some sort of online challenge... hmm, I can't find this particular puzzle, but there do seem to be quite a few scrabble variations out there: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scrabble_variants

Anyhow, enough of that for now.. maybe I should try to get to bed before 2 tonight :)
