I forgot my GoreTex... or How To Make a Garbage Bag Poncho

Things not to forget when backpacking in BC in September... #1: Rain Jacket.
Unfortunately, I didn't realize I had until we were at the gas station in Hope.
Fortunately, I managed to acquire 2 free garbage bags from the Manning Park Lodge shop.
Also fortunately, I know how to turn a garbage bag into a reasonably effective rain poncho... even one able to cover a pack.
Unfortunately, the poncho doesn't stay in place well if it's windy, which it was. It also doesn't offer a lot of insulation.
But, nevertheless, here's what to do if you find yourself in a similar situation...

Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of my poncho when I was actually using it, though Taryn has some taken the morning after (when it wasn't raining). For now, here's a picture of me in my actual, field-tested poncho, standing in my kitchen.
